About The Position

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Off Site Pool Manager works to ensure guests experience a safe & fun pool environment that helps them reach their goals.

Summer Pool Manager for Gretna Crossing Outdoor Aquatic Center!
30-40 hours. Evenings and weekends are required. Must be Lifeguard Certified.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS POSITION REQUIRES ONSITE AVAILABILITY ONE WEEK BEFORE OPENING (MEMORIAL DAY OPENINGS) THROUGH START OF SCHOOL SEASON AND POSSIBLE WEEKENDS THROUGH LABOR DAY. NIGHTS, WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAY AVAILABILITY ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION.

Requirements

• Must be least 21 years of age
• At least 1 year supervisory experience in customer service and/or instruction
• Demonstrated success leading aquatic-focused or equivalent team
• Demonstrated leadership, dependability & flexibility in work hours
• Complete within 30 days of hire: YMCA cause & culture training; Aquatics-specific training including Lifeguard certification, if needed; PR; First Aid; Emergency Oxygen Administration (provided by YMCA)
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community and successful clearance of background check.
• Follow youth boundaries policies and abuse risk management training.
• Report suspicious behavior, policy violations, and adhere to mandated abuse reporting and responsibilities.
• Complete all required abuse prevention training prior to first shift.
• MUST BE LIFEGUARD CERTIFIFED

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises the pool activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.
• Monitors daily pool operations to adhere to all state, local and YMCA health and safety regulations, resolving issues immediately.
• Conducts and ensures proper maintenance of pools. Secures and schedules pool facilities.
• Maintains accurate records of pool chemical levels and facility maintenance, notifying the Aquatics Director of any chemical irregularities.
• Ability to work independently with attention to detail required.
• Attends/facilitates all required training sessions and scheduled meetings.
• Responds quickly, efficiently, and professionally to any emergency situation; completes necessary paperwork and notifies the appropriate professional staff member.
• Enforces all pool rules and regulations promptly and professionally.
• Complies with all items contained in the YMCA of Greater Omaha Aquatic Standards.
• On-site attendance is required of this position.
• Actively participate in department and branch meetings and/or trainings.
• All other duties as assigned.
