About The Position

The Wisconsin Center District is seeking a talented and versatile Graphic Designer to join our in-house marketing communications team. To be successful in this position, you’ll bring strong creative instincts, attention to detail and a hands-on mindset – taking pride in both big-picture thinking and flawless production execution. This role combines creative problem-solving with technical accuracy, ensuring all designs meet brand standards and business goals. A strong understanding of project management and timing, ability to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines and excellent interpersonal communication skills are essential. Projects include brand activation, miscellaneous print collateral, design for digital channels including website, social and e-newsletters, and in-house creation and production of event-related signage.

Requirements

  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, etc.). Proficiency in After Effects highly desirable.
  • Portfolio demonstrating expertise in visual storytelling, art direction, typography, and campaign work across print, digital, web, social and email.
  • Experience in brand development and activation.
  • Proficiency in digital design (UI) and understanding of web design principles, WordPress experience highly desired. UX experience a plus.
  • Strong knowledge and demonstrated management of the print production process.
  • Experience selecting and managing outside vendors/printers.
  • Clear, confident communicator who can present ideas, explain design decisions, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners.
  • Organized, adaptable and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented self-starter with strong ownership, accountability and follow-through.
  • Solution-oriented problem solver who actively incorporates client feedback into the design process.
  • Experience using a project management platform to track assignments.
  • Willingness to learn new skills, tools or methods based on project requirements.
  • Keen attention to detail and focus on quality.
  • 5+ years of progressive, professional graphic design experience.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of work across print and digital design.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in graphic design or related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in After Effects highly desirable.
  • UX experience a plus.
  • WordPress experience highly desired.
  • Agency or marketing department experience preferred.
  • Experience creating signage, stickers, wayfinding, etc. using a plotter and large-scale printer a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Generate innovative, creative concepts across a variety of mediums and provide art direction on all in-house design initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to translate strategic goals into compelling visual solutions.
  • Execute and evolve brand standards across multiple platforms. Ensure visual consistency and high design standards across all materials.
  • Manage all phases of the design process from concept to delivery, including project management, gathering and organizing assets, review process, editing/proofing, file delivery, backup and archiving of projects.
  • Maintain a high quality of service by ensuring overall consistency, accuracy and timeliness of materials.
  • Buildout of organizational brand.
  • Campaign logos, illustrations and infographics.
  • Company collateral:  business cards, letterhead, envelopes.
  • Invitations, flyers, brochures, posters, postcards.
  • Traditional print and digital ads, sell sheets.
  • Visual design for websites, email newsletters, social media graphics.
  • Design of corporate reports and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Motion graphics for social media and websites.
  • Lead the execution and management of a digital asset management system.
  • Serve as point of contact and manage budgets effectively with print vendors, suppliers and freelance talent as required.
  • Other responsibilities and duties as assigned by management to ensure the effective utilization of the company’s resources and to ensure customer satisfaction.
