WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview): The American Red Cross is seeking an innovative grant professional to support the grantmaking program for the Wildfire Long-Term Recovery Programs Team within the NHQ Disaster Cycle Services unit. This is a term-limited, benefits eligible position expected to last 20 months from date of hire with the opportunity to extend based on business need. This is a remote position with preference for someone living in California to support on site work if necessary.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
  • Experience with grant management, technical writing, project management, and data and financial analysis.
  • Strong skills using systems to track and measure program progress and outcomes.
  • Flexibility, adaptability and a positive, team-centered attitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Comfort making decisions based on informed judgement and navigating complex situations where definitive guidance may not be available.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong skills in planning and problem solving.
  • Ability to work independently to manage tasks and to collaborate with teammates to manage programs and projects.

  • Proficient with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to utilize a variety of technical systems with ease, including online project management tools such as Airtable.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Red Cross and community-based disaster recovery processes preferred.
  • Strongly Preferred: experience with Fluxx or a similar Grants Management System.

Responsibilities

  • Support California Wildfires Grants team, including Assistant Director, Grants and Grant Managers on all aspects of full-cycle grants management.
  • Using the Grant Management System, grant management team conducts reviews of grant applications, agreement documents, reports, and financials for compliance with program doctrine and policies.
  • Within the Grant Management System, coordinate meeting documentation, leadership decisions, action items, and track task progress for grant management team and partner meetings.
  • Capture program procedures and policies in written documentation for guidance documents, training, and job tools.
  • Project planning, progress tracking, and coordination for ongoing and unplanned activities for the Wildfires Grant Program.
  • Provide ongoing training and technical troubleshooting to grant managers for grant project compliance and grant management processes.
  • Oversee and implement ongoing training needs and technical troubleshooting for Grants Management System and shifting grant processes for grant management staff
