About The Position

Job Summary Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School, located in University City, is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Teacher to serve during an extended assignment for grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. This position plays a vital role in maintaining continuity of instruction and supporting student learning within a faith-centered, academically engaging Catholic school environment. Position Summary The Long-Term Substitute Teacher will assume primary instructional responsibilities for the assigned classroom(s), including lesson implementation, assessment, classroom management, and communication with families. Working collaboratively with school leadership, learning consultants, specialists, and partner teachers, the substitute teacher will support student academic, social, and emotional growth while upholding the mission and values of Catholic education.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Ability to manage classrooms across multiple grade levels (K–8)
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to supporting the mission of a Catholic school community

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching certification preferred, but not required
  • Significant classroom teaching or substitute experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a positive, structured, and respectful classroom environment
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students
  • Assess student progress and provide appropriate feedback
  • Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and support staff to ensure student success
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with parents and guardians as needed

  • Support the spiritual and moral development of students through daily interactions
