About The Position

The Grants Manager is responsible for the identification and acquisition of grant-type funds that are aligned with the mission of Heart of Florida Health Center (HFHC) and the strategic plan. This position will ensure HFHC completes all required reporting and maintains compliance with all things related to our grant funding, partnering with other departments as required.

Requirements

  • A minimum of five years’ experience in a field related to grants administration.
  • Requires knowledge and understanding of research, program design, development of measurable objectives, and evaluation methodology in health care.
  • Excellent written communication skills demonstrating a command of technical, storytelling and marketing language; including the ability to write persuasively, clearly and concisely and to blend information from multiple sources into a single, effective document.
  • Ability to read, understand, summarize, and synthesize complex topics, data sets, and processes in a clear, straightforward manner.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze statistical data and other data found in reports relevant to programs or projects and connect the statistical data to the goals and objectives of the proposed projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling of work.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
  • Must demonstrate excellent internal and external customer service skills.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of patient privacy act rights.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all medical, financial, and other sensitive materials and information in printed, electronic, or verbal form, which may jeopardize the privacy of patients and/or employees.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundation, corporate sources, local, State, and Federal government, and other funding entities.
  • Prepare, write, and complete H80/Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act Service Area Competition grant in compliance with HRSA guidelines and standards and all subsequent reports.
  • Research, assess and summarize funding opportunities for existing and new programs areas that align with HFHC’s strategic plan and funding priorities, collaborating with content experts as required to provide accurate data for applications and reporting.
  • Study and understand the history, structure, objectives, programs, and financial needs of HFHC.
  • Research, document, and summarize publicly available and HFHC data relating to project service areas including demographics, environmental characteristics, social determinants of health, and historical setting.
  • Demonstrate experience and vision developing programs and interventions that have a positive impact on community health care needs.
  • Develop and draft scopes of work, schedules, budgets, needs statements, and evaluation plans for grant applications packets.
  • Collaborate with Chief Financial Officer and Controller to gather information necessary to develop grant budgets.
  • Monitor interventions and programs funded by grants to ensure compliance with grantor rules and regulations.
  • Prepare grant progress reports as required by the funder in a timely manner, meeting all deadlines.
  • Complete HRSA prior approval and change of scope requests EHB.
  • Work collaboratively with Risk Management and other departments as needed to complete the annual FTCA application in EHB.
  • Prepare UDS mapper reports and maps as needed for reporting purposes and strategic planning.
  • Cultivate and nurture positive relationships with fund providers and other stakeholders, responding to requests for information and/or data efficiently and effectively.
  • Responsible for representing the organization to official agencies and grant organizations.
  • Research grant opportunities for potential proposal and submission.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical, financial, operational, and administrative departments in a spirit of teamwork and cooperation.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned by leadership.
