The Grants Coordinator supports the Grants Administrator in managing federal, state, and local grant programs that fund GRTC’s transit operations and capital projects. This role is responsible for assisting in the preparation, submission, tracking, and compliance of grant applications and awards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about public transportation and community development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, Finance, Urban Planning, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in grant writing, grant administration, or public sector finance preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Word).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with federal and state grant regulations (FTA, DRPT, etc.) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in researching and identifying grant opportunities aligned with GRTC’s strategic goals.
  • Help prepare and compile grant application materials, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate internal reviews and approvals for grant submissions.
  • Maintain accurate records of grant applications, awards, and reporting deadlines.
  • Support the Grants Administrator in preparing financial and performance reports for funding agencies.
  • Monitor grant expenditures and ensure compliance with funding requirements and timelines.
  • Track key performance indicators and metrics required for grant reporting.
  • Assist in compiling data for audits, internal reviews, and external reporting.
  • Maintain organized digital and physical grant files.
  • Collaborate with departments such to gather necessary data and documentation.
  • Serve as a liaison between internal teams and external funding agencies when needed.
  • In accordance with our mission statement, additional duties and / or tasks may be assigned to continue seamless service for the agency.
