About The Position

The Grants Coordinator will assist the Grants Manager and Vice President of Strategic Initiatives in prospecting, vetting, writing, submitting, recording, reporting and tracking grants for all departments within VOAWW. This position requires someone who is highly detail-oriented and organized with strong administrative, research, and writing skills. A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience and/or capability in identifying funding opportunities, coordinating with internal stakeholders, preparing grant documents and budgets, and managing submissions and reporting requirements. The Coordinator will manage multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and clear communication. The Grant Coordinator will report to the Grants Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, marketing, communications, human services, or a related field (or equivalent 4 years of experience)
  • Strong written communication skills with attention to detail and clarity
  • Ability to research and analyze funding opportunities and eligibility requirements
  • Research skills to find data for grant production, including Census demographic data, comparing competing proposals, and other information to enhance grant applications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Basic understanding of budgeting principles and financial documentation
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams, interdepartmental leaders and other VOAWW staff and communicate professionally with funders

Nice To Haves

  • familiarity with grant management systems, Raiser’s Edge or other donor CRMs, and Smartsheet are a huge plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist in researching and prospect granting opportunities from diverse funding sources, including local organizations, corporations, foundations, and government agencies
  • Assist in maintaining grant calendars and tracking submission deadlines, reporting requirements and due dates
  • Attend grantor and opportunity webinars and take notes
  • Coordinate with program, finance, and leadership staff to gather information and supporting documentation for grants
  • Assist with writing and editing grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting narratives
  • Format grants budgets for review between VP of Strategic Initiatives and/or Grants Manager and Finance staff
  • Administer logins and access to online portals and funder systems
  • Help the Grants Manager create post-award reports, data summaries, and documentation to meet funder requirements
  • Coordinate with program, finance and other staff to ensure contract and budget deliverables are understood, tracked, documented and submitted correctly
  • Maintain organized grant files and enter activities into Raiser’s Edge to help current activities and future prospecting
