About The Position

Position Overview: Greater Good Charities seeks a Grant and Reports Specialist to work with the Growth team on foundation and corporate funding opportunities, grant writing and reporting, and the stewardship and management of funder relationships. The Grants and Reports Specialist is a member of the Growth department and serves as a liaison between the organization and funding partners (Foundations and Corporate). The Grants and Reports Specialist is responsible for researching, preparing, submitting, and managing grant proposals/reports that support the organization’s goals and meet funding guidelines and criteria. This individual will serve as the primary grant writer, point of contact in stewarding the relationship, engages in compliance reporting, and supports special project initiatives. This position requires strong writing, data analysis, program budgeting, project management skills, with an emphasis on clear writing and outcome measurements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or at least four years of work experience with nonprofit administration, grant writing, or fundraising).
  • 3 to 5 years of successful grant management experience with certifiable references.
  • Previous experience with nonprofit grant budget development and management.
  • Knowledge of grant application process, scoring criteria, and funding cycles.
  • Comfortable initiating cold outreach and introductory conversations with prospective funding partners
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with donor development/CRM software systems. HubSpot preferred.
  • Experience working with national, international, and corporate partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead grant proposal development and submission which includes:
  • Preparing and organizing materials (grant applications, narratives, and budgets) for proposals/LOIs.
  • Regularly interacting with Programs to have a complete understanding of current and new initiatives for grant proposals
  • Collaborating to finalize materials with Growth, Program, Finance, and executives as needed.
  • Submitting and tracking grant applications.
  • Prospecting funding opportunities:
  • Conduct thorough research to identify and assess new prospective funding sources
  • Prepare foundation profiles in preparation to present findings to appropriate staff
  • In collaboration with the Major Gifts & Grants Officer, lead and support pre-application meetings with prospective and existing funding partners to assess alignment, funding priorities, and application strategy
  • Develop re-engagement strategies for lapsed funders and previously declined proposals, including funder feedback analysis and identification of future submission opportunities.
  • Manage the grant lifecycle from submission to reporting:
  • Maintain master calendar of grants and prospects and organize associated files and correspondence.
  • Maintain the library of grant support documents including resumes, bios, IRS forms, Board/staff lists, etc.
  • Execute thank you letters and facilitate completion of grant contracts/agreements.
  • Ensure acknowledgment of funding partners via website, e-newsletter, and social media through coordination with the Marketing team.
  • Collaborate with Program and Finance teams to support grant compliance, reporting, and funder stewardship by gathering outcome data, success stories, and budget information, while tracking and fulfilling reporting schedules and grant requirements
  • Collaborate with the Growth team in drafting compelling progress reports and targeted program updates for funding partners that fully capture programmatic success.
