Responsibilities

• Customer Service Leadership: Build and maintain a culture focused on delivering exceptional service.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all safety procedures are understood, implemented, and strictly followed.
• Facility Management: Maintain a clean, professional facility by promptly addressing spills, controlling dust, and cleaning dryers regularly.
• Operational Coordination: Work closely with the VP of Grain and Assistant Merchandiser to optimize logistics and manage inventory.
• Transportation Oversight: Coordinate with railroads for efficient loading and transportation.
• Team Development: Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor employees; delegate tasks effectively and provide follow-up.
• Cross-Training: Enhance team flexibility by developing skills across divisions.
• Maintenance Excellence: Ensure grain facilities remain in top condition.
• Quality Assurance: Maintain grain quality to meet end-user requirements.
• Issue Reporting: Immediately report any operational concerns, including grain deterioration, unusual odors, or abnormal sounds.
• Harvest Planning: Set and communicate location hours during harvest to maximize customer satisfaction.
• Scheduling: Balance employee hours to meet customer needs while supporting work-life balance.
• Continuous Learning: Develop a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the grain business.
• Other Duties: Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
