About The Position

Job Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Director of Services to Students with Disabilities (SSD), the Graduate Student Success Coach Student Assistant provides routine administrative and programmatic support to the SSD office. The incumbent assists with student success activities, outreach efforts, and daily office operations following established procedures and detailed instructions. Work assignments involve limited use of discretion and judgment and are regularly reviewed for accuracy and completeness. This position provides a professional development opportunity for a graduate student interested in student services, disability support services, and higher education administration. Responsibilities: Under direct supervision, assignments are provided with specific instructions, and completed work is reviewed regularly. Duties include but are not limited to the following: Administrative Support - Assist with scheduling appointments and maintaining calendars for student success activities. - Provide front desk and customer service support by greeting students and responding to general inquiries. - Answer phones and direct calls to appropriate staff. - Enter data and maintain records in accordance with established SSD procedures. - Assist with filing and inputting student case notes on AIM. - Draft routine emails and correspondence using approved templates for staff review. - Assist with timekeeping and basic tracking processes as assigned. - Maintain organized electronic and physical workspaces. Program and Event Support - Assist professional staff with the preparation of materials for workshops, presentations, and outreach events. - Support the set-up and breakdown of events, meetings, and student engagement activities. - Track attendance and assist with compiling participation information using established systems. - Distribute informational materials and promotional items as directed. - Assist staff during student success appointments or drop-in activities as requested. - Provide logistical support for student engagement programming under staff direction. Outreach and Resource Support - Assist with updating informational materials and bulletin boards. - Support social media or outreach efforts by preparing content for staff review. - Help distribute campus resource information to students. - Provide general information about SSD services using approved materials and guidance. Other Duties Perform other related support duties as assigned, consistent with the Student Assistant classification.

Requirements

  • Ability to learn and perform assigned work

  • read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
  • Admission or registration as a CSU student.
  • Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative.
  • Students must be enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate)
  • International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB. (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate)
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Social Security Card
  • Ability to work a minimum of 10 hours per week.
  • Student must be enrolled in a graduate level program at CSUSB.
  • Students must have and maintain a valid California Driver's License.
