About The Position

The Graduate Student Assistant (Diet Office) will be directed by the assigned Dietetics Assistant Director in Nutrition Services at the Department of State Hospitals - Atascadero (ASH). The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties but not limited to: Diet order processing Monitor modified diet provision Assist the Dietetic Technicians to provide support to Registered Dietitians Performance Improvement and other duties as assigned Minimum qualifications will be verified prior to being scheduled for an interview. Requirements

Registration as a graduate student in a college or university of recognized standing. (Persons appointed during the summer months must produce evidence of eligibility for such registration in the following enrollment period.)
Applicant MUST provide proof of current enrollment in a graduate level Nutrition or Food Service Management major OR already posses a bachelor's degree in Nutrition or Food Service Management.
The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.
The position(s) require(s) Medical Clearance prior to being hired.

Nice To Haves

Experience with or knowledge of tray line meal service and/or institutional meal service systems.
Experience or knowledge of diet order processing and provision of modified diets.
Ability to work with various job classifications from entry level staff to management and effectively communicate nutritional information.
Experience with food service with food service software systems and data entry is desirable.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with a focus on attention to detail.
