About The Position

Performs all phases of laboratory testing as assigned. The Graduate Medical Technologist is an interim position between graduation from an accredited medical technology program and employment as a MT. The GMT should obtain a degree and pass the MT registry within 6 months of employment.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Technology program.
• The Graduate Medical Technologist is an interim position between graduation from an accredited medical technology program and employment as a MT. The GMT should obtain a degree and pass the MT registry within 6 months of employment.
• 0 - 6 months related experience.
• Adequate keyboarding skills to use the computer efficiently.
• Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to organize work in an effective and efficient manner.
• Ability to be detail oriented in the examination of clinical and numerical data.

Responsibilities

• Performs testing according to established procedures.
• Receives and processes specimens, components and/or requisitions.
• Reports accurate test results.
• Performs quality control, equipment maintenance and instrument calibration under supervision.
• Functions as a float in more than one laboratory department (if applicable).
