About The Position

The Graduate Enrollment Counselor plays an essential role in supporting the University's mission by guiding prospective and current graduate students through every step of the enrollment process. Serving as the first point of contact for inquiries, this position provides professional advice, personalized guidance, and exceptional customer service to help students make informed decisions about achieving their educational goals. The Counselor works closely with faculty, staff, and other campus offices to ensure a seamless transition from application to enrollment, contributing to a positive student experience and the overall success of the Graduate Studies division.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Two (2) year's experience in university admissions or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Guide prospective students through the University's admissions process, providing information on program requirements, application materials, and graduate policies.
  • Ensure applicants understand the expectations, time commitment, and skills required for success in a graduate program.
  • Process admission applications, including preliminary review of academic records and credentials to confirm eligibility for review.
  • Communicate with applicants regarding missing materials, enter data and decisions into the University database, and maintain accurate records.
  • Maintain timely processing of applications, working extended hours during peak periods to prevent backlogs.
  • Manage academic petitions, transfer credits, and related student records for enrolled students.
  • Communicate regularly with students about graduate policies, procedures, and resources to support retention and success.
  • Prepare reports and analyze admissions and enrollment data as needed.
