About The Position

The Graduate Admissions Counselor is responsible for recruiting, advising, and guiding prospective graduate students through the admissions process. This individual serves as a primary point of contact for applicants and is committed to delivering exceptional service while meeting enrollment goals for graduate programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 1 year of experience in admissions, higher education, or a related field.
• Strong interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Slate, Salesforce).
• Willingness to travel and work evenings or weekends as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree preferred.
• 2-3 years experience in graduate admissions or student services.
• Experience supporting adult learners, online/hybrid programs, or international student populations.
• Familiarity with international admissions processes.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Passion for higher education and student success.

Responsibilities

• Advise prospective students on admission requirements, application procedures, and program offerings.
• Drive inquiries and started applicants to complete the process.
• Review and evaluate applications for admission and make recommendations based on established criteria. Collaborate with program directors on borderline applicants.
• Maintain communication with prospective students via phone, email, text, and virtual platforms.
• Collaborate with academic departments to ensure a seamless admissions process.
• Track applicant progress and update CRM/database systems regularly.
• Assist with the planning and execution of on-campus and virtual recruitment events.
• Support admitted students through the enrollment process, including orientation and registration.
• Represent the institution at graduate fairs, college visits, and community events.
