About The Position

The Student Engagement and Outreach (SEAO) Graduate Assistant supports professional staff members in planning, implementing and assessing ongoing and future student engagement initiatives. The Graduate Assistant works closely with the student engagement staff to advise the Cardinal Nights student group, manage the HogSync platform, and assist in transfer student support initiatives. The SEAO Graduate Assistant is expected to be student-centered, administratively sound, task-oriented, relationship-oriented, be proficient with email management, have the ability to problem solve, and must work well autonomously and with a team. Small and large group facilitation skills, strong customer service skills and the ability to work successfully with a variety of constituents are also highly desired. This position will develop UA Career-Ready skills such as Teamwork, Communication, and Critical Thinking. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Successful enrollment in a graduate-degree seeking program at the University of Arkansas
  • Criminal Background Check

Responsibilities

  • Student Group Advising Assist students in planning and implementing large campus programs on a monthly basis.
  • Track a budget of approximately $200,000.
  • Meet with Student leaders 1:1 to ensure success in their position.
  • Platform Management Collaborating with RSO office to conduct large-scale training and events Updating and maintaining web page with resources and information about HogSync Utilizing reports to evaluate student engagement efforts Collecting feedback to enhance outreach efforts
  • Student Engagement Initiatives Assisting SEAO departments with transfer student events, programs, and projects Work collaboratively with a variety of Student Affairs staff as needed Attend staff departmental meetings and retreats
