About The Position

Auburn Athletics is excited to begin the search for a Graduate Assistant - Event Operations. This individual will assist the game manager or serving as game manager/main point of contact at assigned sports and events and preparing and distributing communications & materials for gameday operations. Students enrolled in the Hospitality Management master's program are strongly encouraged to apply, as this program provides an excellent foundation for the skills and knowledge required for this role.

Requirements

  • Admitted to a graduate degree-seeking or certificate program at Auburn University.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, sport management, or related field.
  • Registered for at least one course (anything carrying an Auburn University course number) during each academic term of the assistantship.
  • Candidates must possess excellent organizational and communication skills, and a willingness to work nights and weekend hours.
  • We are looking for a candidate who desires to hold this position for two years.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a collegiate or professional sport event management is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the game manager and/or serve as a manager at assigned sports and events
  • Prepare and distribute communications and materials for gameday operations (event sheets, credential boards, etc.)
  • Assist with leading in event staff scheduling, training, and education - contracted and student staff
  • Assist with event/facility set up and break down
  • Manage day-to-day office responsibilities as assigned
