About The Position

This position will serve as an Intern for the Emerging Mobility Division of the Indiana Department of Transportation. INDOT's Emerging Mobility Division is responsible for research, development, implementation, education and regulation of emerging and transformational technologies in the connected, automated and electric vehicle space.â¯ The Emerging Mobility Division Intern will be responsible for working on two primary projects: The National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program, Charging the Crossroads and INDOT's V2X (Vehicle to Everything Deployment Plan. In addition, the intern will assist on a variety of other division projects and support.

Requirements

Working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, CS or related field
Basic knowledge of the mission and role of INDOT
Basic understanding of state policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
Knowledge of state government structure, administrative procedures, and the legislative process
Ability to research, draft, and edit data and reports
Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to handle multiple projects
Ability to operate computer tools
Good research and writing skills
Good interpersonal and communication skills suitable for a wide variety of contacts
Confidence and ability to learn on the job and adapt quickly to changing circumstances

Responsibilities

NEVI Program Administration
Work on individual EV charging infrastructure projects from pre-construction through operational audits
Field checks
Outreach and communications
Data analysis for operational sites
INDOT's V2X Deployment Plan
Develop a Database for V2X Messages beginning with SPaT and MAP messages for signalized intersections
