About The Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Government Property Supervisor. The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nations fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS: First level supervision responsible for at least two individuals, typically non-exempt and for one location Directs team members to achieve assignments using established guidelines, procedures, and policies Assigns tasks and reviews employees' work at frequent intervals Effectively resolves conflicts of personnel within team and across functions Administers property control program activities to ensure accountability of government property in accordance with applicable company policy or government regulations Acts as liaison between the DCMA property and the company Performs compliance audits of government/customer-owned property and initiates corrective actions with the appropriate departments for discrepancies Performs supplier evaluations and audits of supplier (vendor, subcontractor) facilities where government and/or customer-owned property is assigned through the company Coordinates and verifies various reports and certifications for submission to government/customer agencies Works with personnel using government/customer property to ensure compliance with pertinent government regulations and internal procedures May verify the accuracy and adequacy of property disposition schedules prior to their submission to the appropriate agency representatives Initiates and maintains various departmental property databases and reports using available software applications and tools Reviews contract documentation for programs that require the use of property and ensures that relevant information regarding property is kept up to date in the database Reviews program documentation for property related requirements and provides all input for assigned program or functional area to the property management system Participates/coordinates/verifies in the conduct, reconciliation, and reporting of annual customer property inventories Participates in supplier evaluations and works with subcontracts on audits of suppliers to whom customer property is assigned Conducts a wide variety of contractual verification, compliance guidance, report submittals and monitoring to ensure compliance of programs and functional areas with internal policies and procedures Assists as necessary to assure satisfactory property system surveys by customer representatives Assists in problem solving, planning and implementing contract unique property requirements Conducts independent investigations of cases of lost or damaged property Reviews contract terms and conditions, special provisions and procedures as it applies to the handling, control and disposition of customer and/or government property

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations.
  • Proficient knowledge of government property regulations
  • Sought out by others to answer inquiries or provide expert information in more than one discipline
  • Ability to lead self-directed teams
  • Mentoring skills including ability to train new employees, facilitate peer learning and lead teams in problem solving
  • Proficient ability to generate routine contractual correspondences
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Directly supervises individual contributors
  • Demonstrates ability to adjust individual and team activities to changing conditions
  • Works on tasks requiring considerable judgment and initiative understanding the implications of work and making recommendations for solution
  • Must possess or be able to obtain secret clearance level or above
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable at time of hire.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
