About The Position

The Agency for Health Care Administration is Florida's chief health policy and planning entity. The Agency is responsible for administering the Florida Medicaid program, the licensure and regulation of nearly 50,000 health care facilities, and empowering consumers through health care transparency initiatives. Under the direction of Agency Secretary Shevaun L. Harris, the Agency is focused on advancing Governor DeSantis’ vision for Florida’s health care system to be the most cost-effective, transparent, and high-quality health care system in the nation. This position serves as a core analytical resource within the Division of Operations and blends technical data skills with applied accounting knowledge to improve decision-making, strengthen internal controls, and enhance operational efficiency across the agency. A good attendance record is essential for any individual in this position as the work involved occurs daily and is time sensitive. The individual in this position is expected to report to work daily and on time.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, validate, and reconcile data from multiple operational and financial systems to support agency reporting and decision-making.
  • Identify discrepancies, data quality issues, and cross system inconsistencies; work with subject matter experts to resolve them.
  • Develop repeatable processes for extracting, transforming, and organizing data from both legacy and modernized statewide systems.
  • Build data models that integrate information across functional workflows.
  • Assist with producing accurate, timely analyses of expenditures, encumbrances, purchasing activity, personnel trends, and operational performance metrics.
  • Conduct variance analysis, forecasting, and trend identification across financial and operational datasets.
  • Support month end, quarter end, and year end reporting by preparing reconciliations, summaries, and audit ready documentation.
  • Translate complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable insights for leadership.
  • Design and maintain dashboards that consolidate data from multiple operational domains, enabling leadership to monitor performance, compliance, and workload trends.
  • Develop visualizations that highlight key metrics such as spending patterns, cycle times, staffing trends, and operational throughput.
  • Ensure dashboards are intuitive, accurate, and aligned with agency reporting standards.
  • Establish and maintain data quality checks, reconciliation routines, and documentation to ensure accuracy and reliability of operational reporting.
  • Support internal control activities by providing transparent, well structured data and audit ready evidence.
  • Contribute to the development of standardized data definitions, reporting templates, and analytical best practices.
