About The Position

This open competitive advertisement is for an OPS (Other Personal Services) position located at Central Office in Tallahassee, FL in the Bureau of Re-Entry and Transition Services. The mission of the Office of Programs and Re-Entry at the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is to provide comprehensive rehabilitative programs and services that prepare inmates for successful reintegration into society. This position is not a Telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

Requirements

  • Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must possess the ability to travel.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Phone and Correspondence Management: Screen incoming calls and correspondence, provide responsive information, and escalate issues as needed.
  • Calendar Coordination: Monitor and update group calendars in Outlook.
  • Document Preparation: Draft and finalize correspondence and reports, assist with data collection and analysis of program services.
  • Administrative Support: Prepare forms and charts for review, maintain project files, and create purchase requests in My Florida Market Place (MFMP).
  • Report Compilation: Compile weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly accomplishment reports for the Bureau of Programs and Re-Entry.
  • Event Assistance: Assist with organizing meetings, workshops, conferences, training, and community re-entry simulators.
  • Travel Arrangements: Make travel arrangements, prepare itineraries, reservations, and reimbursement vouchers.
  • Program and Volunteer Support: Assist with Chaplain vacancy reports, track changes to statutes and rules, manage the Volunteer application process, follow up on re-entry status of released offenders, and participate in special projects.

You contribute 7.5% of your compensation to this tax deferred plan. All OPS employees are required to participate in this plan and are automatically enrolled.
