About The Position

The Government Grants Data Associate will support the Government Grants & Compliance Manager by managing the data associated with SPP’s government grants and contracts. This role will track grant requirements, reporting deadlines, and financial and program performance metrics. The Government Grants Data Associate will organize, validate, and analyze information needed for programmatic and fiscal reporting, contract renewals, audits, and site visits. This position ensures that data is reliable, current, and accessible so the organization can meet compliance obligations, support accurate submissions, and use data to guide strategic decisions and assess program impact.

Requirements

  • Strong skills in data entry, data cleaning, and compiling accurate information.
  • High level of comfort with Excel, spreadsheets, and working with numbers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and PCs.
  • The ability to accurately and quickly gather data, compile information, and keep accurate records.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines with strong organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain and protect confidential information.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information with integrity, discretion, and professionalism, particularly in relation to personnel, labor relations, and organizational data.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance internal tracking systems to monitor contract goals, performance indicators, and case metrics.
  • Create and manage dashboards and trackers to provide the Government Grants team with visibility into compliance progress.
  • Support the data collection and preparation process for biweekly, monthly, quarterly, biannual, and annual reports. This includes utilizing direct access to payroll and organizational financial records to gather, clean, and organize quantitative information to demonstrate impact and program efficiency.
  • Conduct routine data quality checks to ensure that information entered in tracking systems is complete, consistent, and aligned with specific funder requirements.
  • Support the Government Grants & Compliance Manager across the full contract lifecycle, including proposals, startups, renewals, amendments, and closeouts, by compiling required documentation, datasets, and budget materials.
  • Monitor a comprehensive calendar of government contract deadlines and proactively alert the Manager to upcoming reporting obligations, renewals, and critical dates.
  • Prepare and generate datasets, funding models, and financial metrics for budgets, allocations, and contract documents, ensuring alignment with funder obligations and internal management decisions. This includes participating in confidential meetings with management related to funding decisions, resource allocation, and financial planning for grant-funded programs.
