Summary of Role: As part of the GlobalFoundries Global Government Affairs team, the Government Affairs Analyst will track and analyze global legislative, regulatory, and policy changes impacting the organization. They will support outreach to policymakers, including preparing summaries and briefing materials for internal and external use, coordinate engagement with government officials and industry groups, and assist in crafting advocacy content. Other duties include maintaining databases, providing updates on key issues, and working with legal, compliance, and business teams to align policy positions.

Requirements

  • Education – Graduating with Bachelor’s in Political Science or related field from an accredited degree program.
  • Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and proven good academic standing.
  • Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)
  • Travel - Up to 10%

  • Prior related internship or co-op experience.
  • Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
  • Project management skills, i.e. the ability to innovate and execute solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong planning & organizational skills
  • Internship experience in government affairs, public policy, or related field.
  • Interest in global policy issues and international regulatory frameworks.
  • Familiarity with advanced technology, semiconductors, and innovation policy.

Responsibilities

  • Policy Research & Analysis: Track and analyze global legislative, regulatory, and policy developments impacting the organization. Prepare summaries, presentations, briefing materials, and reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Engagement Support: Assist in coordinating outreach to government officials, trade associations, and industry groups. Support the development of advocacy materials and talking points.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Maintain databases of policy issues, government contacts, and engagement activities. Provide timely updates on emerging issues and trends.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (legal, compliance, business units) to align policy positions with organizational goals.
  • Other Responsibilities: Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
