About The Position

We’re looking for a strategic, collaborative and forward-thinking Governance & Performance Lead to shape how Goodstart delivers its most important projects. Leading a small team of PMO Analysts, you’ll shape frameworks, reporting standards, and performance metrics that enable informed decisions and successful delivery of strategic initiatives. This role is all about creating clarity, consistency, and confidence – ensuring every project investment delivers measurable value. You’ll be the trusted advisor to senior leaders, guiding decision-making with clear insights, consistent governance, and best-practice project management. Requirements

  • Current QLD Working with Children Check
  • Proven experience delivering project and portfolio governance within a PMO or EPMO environment
  • Strong understanding of frameworks such as PRINCE2, MSP, MoP or PMBOK
  • Confidence leading executive reporting, assurance activities, and project evaluation processes
  • Experience developing and implementing project management methodologies and tools
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, including dashboard development
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams

Nice To Haves

  • Tertiary-level qualifications in Project management, familiarity with benefit realisation, and hands-on capability with PPM tools such as PMO365, Monday.com, Jira, MS Project, or Power BI

Responsibilities

  • Lead portfolio planning and prioritisation to ensure the right projects are selected, sequenced, and resourced
  • Oversee executive-level reporting, providing clear and timely insights for informed decision-making
  • Lead key governance processes including project proposal, business case development, project assessments, and approval pathways
  • Monitor overall portfolio health and identify systemic issues to improve delivery predictability
  • Maintain and continuously improve project management frameworks, methodologies, tools and templates to strengthen governance and delivery capability
  • Optimise project management tools and systems, driving adoption and capability uplift
  • Conduct assurance reviews and health checks to ensure compliance and delivery quality
  • Govern project setup, closure, and post-implementation reviews, embedding lessons learned into future planning cycles
  • Track and report benefit realisation across the portfolio
  • Coach and develop a small team of PMO Analysts, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture
  • Build strong relationships with executives, sponsors, and delivery leads to enable transparent communication and timely decision-making
