About The Position

The Golf Tournament Services Coordinator at McLemore Resort plays a key role in delivering exceptional golf tournaments and group outing experiences at one of the Southeast’s premier golf destinations. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing golf tournaments and outings across McLemore’s two golf courses (including The Keep – Sports Illustrated’s Best New Course of 2025) while upholding the resort’s commitment to personalized service, attention to detail, and elevated hospitality. Reporting to the Resort Vice President of Sales and Strategy this role serves as the primary liaison for golf events between group/meeting planners and/or golf tournament hosts and the resort sales team, conference services, and golf operations departments. The coordinator ensures every golf event reflects the McLemore brand and creates memorable experiences for guests, members, and sponsors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in hospitality management, sports management or a related field preferred
  • Previous experience in golf operations, tournament coordination, event management, or resort hospitality preferred
  • Strong understanding of golf tournament formats, rules, and scoring systems
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, guest service, and relationship-building skills
  • Proficiency with standard office software and golf/tournament management systems
  • Passion for golf and hospitality
  • Professional, polished demeanor aligned with a luxury resort environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across departments
  • Experience with Omni, GolfNow, EZ Links, Agilysys or Jonas tee sheets. Specifically booking tee times, blocking shotgun starts and inputting notes and guest information.
  • Experience with Golf Genius or other event scoring platforms
  • Knowledge of Delphi/Amadeus software helpful
  • Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, weekends, some holidays, and peak resort seasons
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and assist with light lifting and event setup

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at a private club, golf resort or upscale daily fee course is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute golf tournaments, outings, and special golf events hosted at McLemore Resort
  • Act as the main golf point of contact for tournament organizers, corporate groups, charity events, and resort partners.
  • Participate in the booking process with the sales team to help with site visits, answer questions about golf and golf events and communicate pricing in some cases.
  • Manage event logistics including blocking and booking tee times in the tee sheet, tournament formats, scoring, creation of rule sheets, coordination of signage, contests, awards and pre-event announcements.
  • Collaborate closely with golf operations, food & beverage/conference services, agronomy, resort sales, and lodging teams to ensure seamless execution
  • Prepare and distribute event details, pairings, and tournament communications to group contact or participants as needed.
  • Coordinate tournament materials such as custom scorecards, cart signs, tee signage, sponsor recognition, and player gifts
  • Oversee registration, pairings, live scoring, and post-event results with help of golf professional staff
  • Provide on-site tournament support, ensuring smooth operations and promptly resolving guest needs
  • Assist with promoting tournaments and enhancing revenue opportunities through premium services and add-ons
  • Conduct post-event follow-up to gather feedback and support repeat and referral business
