About The Position

The Golf Shop Retail Intern works closely with the Retail Buyer & Golf Shop Manager to support purchasing decisions, maintain accurate inventory levels, and ensure timely receiving and pricing of merchandise. This role is responsible for keeping the stock room organized and maintaining visually appealing sales floor displays. The position requires strong interpersonal skills and professionalism, with regular interaction with members, guests, and staff. Additional responsibilities include supporting daily golf operations and assisting with merchandising and stock in the Fitness Centre and Equestrian Centre.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Retailing and Consumer Science
  • Knowledge in using computer accounting software, Microsoft Office, Club Essentials and spreadsheets is helpful, but on job training is provided.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and has strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong Member service skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to be self-directed, is highly motivated and reliable.
  • Ability to follow written and oral directions.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities and to work independently.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and to work quickly and efficiently.
  • Ability to maintain personal hygiene.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in highly fluid and dynamic environment.

  • Ability to maintain professionalism and image of the Stock Farm Club.
  • Ability to lift to 45 pounds.
  • Must be able to pass employment background check and motor vehicle record checks.
  • Must possess valid driver’s license in accordance with the laws of the State of Montana; must be insurable under the company’s auto insurance policy.
  • Must be able to work variable schedule or irregular hours to include last-minute scheduling needs/changes and working split shifts based on needs of the Club operations and scheduled events.
  • Must be able to work holidays, weekday, weekend, early morning/late evening hours, and overtime as required.
  • Ability to work outside in adverse weather conditions as needed and to walk on uneven ground.
  • Ability to perform same-day travel on Stock Farm Property and within local geographic region.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in managing receipt of all inventory and retail pricing.
  • Assists with all prep work leading up to placing merchandise on display – including tagging, steaming, folding, etc.
  • Assists in performing all end of month inventories and reconciling.
  • Maintains a Golf Shop appearance to a standard reflective of the Club.
  • Works with Retail Buyer & Golf Shop Manager to execute visual display changeovers.
  • Works towards budgetary goals: Sales, COGS, Inventory Turnover.
  • Assists with placing special orders and follow up.
  • Assists with fill-in orders and ordering through vendor B2B sites.
  • Works with Retail Buyer & Golf Shop Manager to oversee Club uniform inventory and ordering.
  • Manages all Stock Farm Club ecommerce and Shopify site by keeping online store current with inventory and new styles.
  • Maintains a consistent and professional presence on the golf shop floor, providing exceptional service and support to members and guests.
  • Assists Golf Ops staff with daily golf functions.
  • Assists Golf Ops staff with tournament operations.
  • May perform other related duties as assigned.
