Performs maintenance duties within the Rob Roy Golf course and Park District.
Mow greens, tees, fairways, and roughs by use of reel-type and rotary mowers
Cut grass using a push, or rider lawn mower or power trimmer
Change putting green cups on greens
Hand shovel dirt or gravel
Assist in aerating and top dressing greens
Operation of irrigation pumps
Manual watering
Application of fertilizer
Load and unload materials and equipment
Trim trees, pick up brush, and load brush
Plant and care of trees and shrubbery, and flower beds
Painting
Washing vehicles
Emptying garbage cans
Blowing off paths and parking lots
Snow Removal
Perform light maintenance and construction duties
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Must arrive at work on time
Valid Illinois Driver’s License
Must have the ability to operate equipment and tools safely and proficiently
Must possess ability to work in team efficiently.
Must possess customer service skills
Must be able to pass a criminal background check, pre-employment physical and drug test.
Knowledge of a variety of maintenance and manual tasks involved in the general upkeep, repairs, cleanliness, and overall aesthetics of buildings, grounds and playground equipment.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in golf course maintenance
Certification in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) within 3 months of employment
Be in good physical condition and must have the ability to handle strenuous and varied physical activity in all weather, including but not limited to, extensive lifting, standing, walking and climbing.
