About The Position

Groundskeeper, under the supervision of the Grounds and Landscaping Manager and/or Supervisor, performs routine manual labor. This involves landscape maintenance, semi-skilled ground construction and maintenance work, operation of small hand-powered equipment. Each groundskeeper may be assigned responsibility for the care and maintenance of several designated areas on the property Must be at least 19 years old. Requirements

  • Knowledge of methods and materials used in grounds maintenance and landscape construction work is recommended but not required
  • Be able to follow oral and written directions
  • Possess good customer service skills
  • Must possess a clean MVR and Valid driver’s license to drive throughout the property
  • Extensive physical activity, which requires strenuous physical work, large amounts of walking, and heavy lifting
  • Work involves exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, and fumes
  • Exposure to high, constant noise levels
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen test.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Must work well with others in a team environment. At times, must also be able to work with minimum amounts of supervision
  • Remove debris using a backpack blower
  • Implement proper landscape installation principles
  • Trim and prune trees, shrubs, grasses and perennials
  • Report any equipment problems or failures to supervisor
  • Removal of any dead trees, limbs, and other debris
  • Perform weed control under the Supervision of the Manager or Supervisor
  • Apply fertilizers to plants, shrubs, and grasses
  • Spray chemicals under the Supervision of the Manager or Supervisor
  • Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor
  • Must operate mowers and hand-powered equipment in a safe and effective manner
  • Keep all equipment in good working order (repairs and preventative maintenance)
  • Ensure equipment is safely and securely stored
  • Report potential safety hazards within the community to the Manager or Supervisor
  • Follow company policies and procedures
  • Assist all other departments as instructed by Supervisor or Manager
