About The Position

Davis Chevrolet’s Service Department located in Houston, TX has a booming business and is currently interviewing exceptional people for an Experienced GM Service Technician Position . Automotive GM Service Technician experience is required! Especially interested in technicians with aftermarket experience from stores like Firestone, Goodyear, Midas, etc. We are a family owned dealership and a company with great history! Automotive Service Technician Responsibilities: Examines vehicle, diagnoses and, if needed discusses with the Shop Foreman, or Service Advisor as to the nature and extent of damage or malfunction Communicates additional service request to the Service Advisor for communication to client Plans work procedure in cooperation with the Shop Foreman Provides labor time estimates to the Service Advisor Monitors repair time and updates Service Advisor on status often for client vehicles left for service, and for waiting clients Maintains strict adherence to dealership policy on client vehicle care and operation Completes story and/or documentation for client repairs Understands and utilizes dealership computer system Assist Technician Trainees Wears approved safety glasses when in designated safety areas Keeps work area clean and tidy and attends Company and factory training Keeps current with factory technical bulletins Understands and follows Federal, State and local regulations such as disposal of hazardous wastes Attends weekly department meetings Follows GM cause, correction and concern Verifies labor time through labor guide Understands and follows GM policy and procedures Automotive Service Technicians Qualifications: Excellent communication skills Professional appearance Positive attitude Strong automotive knowledge and previous automotive related experience Commitment to being a team player Clean driving record Must have hand tools and pneumatic tools Must have valid Texas Driver's License or be able to obtain one within 30 days of employment.
