As the Global Trade Compliance Lead, you will develop, maintain and execute a comprehensive global compliance program that ensures the organization’s adherence to applicable import, export, sanctions and customs regulations across multiple jurisdictions. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, partner closely with cross-functional teams and provide practical, risk-based guidance on complex trade-related matters. This role requires substantial technical knowledge, sound judgment and the ability to manage risk in a dynamic international environment. This role reports to the North America General Counsel and is based out of the St. Louis, Creve Coeur office. I’m interested! What will I get to do in this position? Global Program Leadership Develop, maintain and execute the global trade compliance framework, including policies, procedures and training covering import, export, and sanctions compliance. Monitor regulatory requirements across the U.S., U.K., EU, and all other global jurisdictions in which ICL operates. Provide guidance to business leaders, supply chain, sales, logistics, procurement, R&D, and other stakeholders on compliance implications of products, transactions, and new markets. Ensure consistent global deployment of trade compliance standards, processes, and controls. Operational Compliance Oversight Oversee restricted party screening and export classification (ECCN). Manage processes related to export licenses, end use and end user controls, sanctions compliance (U.S. OFAC, EU and others) and anti-boycott requirements. Oversee import compliance activities including customs documentation, post-entry corrections, duty optimization activities and free trade agreement qualification (e.g., USMCA and global FTAs). Ensure appropriate review and risk assessment for new customers, products, and transactions. Support voluntary disclosures, internal inquiries or external investigations in collaboration with the Legal team. Training & Engagement Develop and deliver clear, practical training to operations, logistics, and other key teams globally. Build and guide an informal global network of trade compliance coordinators and local subject-matter contacts. Communicate compliance requirements persuasively to employees at all organizational levels. Governance & Continuous Improvement Identify compliance risks and recommend improvements to mitigate them. Partner with IT and functional stakeholders to improve automation, data accuracy, and process efficiency (including SAP and GTS). Maintain effective working relationships with internal supply chain personnel, customs brokers, freight forwarders, logistics providers and external consultants. Evaluate and advise of budgeting needs related to the trade compliance program. What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?
