Global Supply Manager - Indirect Services

Base Power CompanyAustin, TX

About The Position

About Base Base is America’s next-generation power company. We’re rebuilding the foundation of modern civilization–electricity–by deploying a vast network of distributed batteries that is transforming today’s fragile, centralized grid into a resilient and abundant system. We are engineers, operators, and creatives solving some of the most complex, interdisciplinary challenges of our time. About the Role We are seeking a strategic operator to own one of Base’s most important partnerships – with one of the nation’s leading homebuilders. This partnership has introduced thousands of homeowners to Base and continues to scale rapidly each week. As the primary point of contact, you will represent Base in all interactions with our partner and be accountable for the success of the relationship. That means driving volume growth, unit economics, and quality outcomes while ensuring our partner stays motivated to win alongside us. At Base, partnerships aren’t siloed – you’ll collaborate closely with Deployments, Growth, Software, and Hardware to deliver results that matter.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in sourcing, procurement, or vendor management for services categories (experience with field services or trades like electrical strongly preferred)
  • Strong fluency in contract language, including the ability to draft, structure, and negotiate agreements that clearly define scope, expectations, and risk
  • Experience working in startup or high-growth environments with limited structure and evolving processes
  • High ownership mindset—you take responsibility for outcomes end-to-end and follow through without needing close direction
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and put in the work required to get the job done, especially in a fast-moving startup environment
  • Ability to operate with high autonomy—comfortable figuring out the “how” without predefined playbooks
  • Ability to work quickly and be scrappy—resourceful in finding solutions when none exist and willing to jump in wherever needed
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to guide teams toward cost-effective decisions without formal authority
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills
  • Familiarity with should-cost modeling and cost breakdown analysis to assess and validate supplier pricing
  • Solid understanding of Time & Materials vs. Fixed Price contracts, including when to apply each model based on scope clarity and risk profile
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
  • Analytical mindset with experience using data to inform decisions
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strategic thinking with a hands-on, execution-focused approach

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with contractor networks or managing service providers at scale is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end sourcing for services categories (e.g., professional services, facilities, construction, marketing, etc.), with a strong focus on electrical services and contractor networks
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies that deliver cost savings, quality, and risk mitigation
  • Manage a high volume of contracts, including drafting, reviewing, redlining, and negotiating terms with service providers
  • Draft, interpret, and refine contract language to clearly convey business intent, scope, and expectations while ensuring appropriate risk allocation
  • Operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment—bringing structure to ambiguity and building processes where they don’t yet exist
  • Move quickly and make sound decisions with incomplete information; unblock yourself and others without waiting for perfect direction
  • Determine and drive the right sourcing approach independently, even when requirements or processes are not fully defined
  • Coach and influence internal stakeholders to arrive at cost-effective, practical solutions—balancing business needs with commercial discipline
  • Source, onboard, and manage electricians and electrical service providers, building a reliable and scalable contractor network
  • Leverage internal contracted rates for electrical materials/parts and structure agreements so those savings are passed through to electricians—reducing overall cost to Base
  • Manage supplier negotiations
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
  • Apply should-cost modeling and cost analysis techniques to validate supplier pricing and ensure cost competitiveness
  • Determine appropriate commercial models (e.g., Time & Materials vs. Fixed Price) based on scope definition, risk allocation, and project requirements
