About The Position

At Romulus Propulsion Systems, the Global Supply Chain Manager reports directly to the Plant Director, and is a member of the Plant Staff. This role leads end‑to‑end supply chain operations to ensure safe, reliable, and cost‑efficient material flow supporting production, launch readiness and customer satisfaction. The role oversees teams responsible for demand planning, material management, warehouse/manufacturing operations, supplier performance, scheduling, and logistics optimization. Acting as a key liaison among purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, logistics, and suppliers, the manager drives cross‑functional issue resolution. They are also responsible for directly leading the GSC office team. Success requires strong leadership rooted in GM Behaviors, operational discipline, and a continuous‑improvement mindset in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, purchasing, or manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with direct or indirect team management.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Proficiency in manufacturing systems (SAP, SIM, OnStar logistics systems, planning tools) or similar enterprise systems.
  • Ability to work cross functionally in a fast paced, high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the GSC team at Romulus Propulsion, fostering collaboration, inclusion, teamwork, engagement, and shared accountability.
  • Strengthen organizational culture through transparency, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.
  • Partner with Production, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and union leadership to resolve operational and workforce issues.
  • Provide cross-functional support and guidance for all product launches.
  • Recruit, supervise, train, and develop salaried team members.
  • Administer performance reviews, vacation, attendance, and workforce-related policies.
  • Lead teams through complex supply chain issue resolution, promoting shared problem ownership.
  • Ensure uninterrupted material availability to support production schedules and launch milestones.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal customers (Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Finance) and external partners (customers, suppliers, LLPs, logistics providers).
  • Communicate risks, constraints, and mitigation plans proactively and transparently.
  • Lead within GM Global Logistics/Containers to meet or exceed customer, quality, service, responsiveness, and financial goals.
  • Evaluate supplier schedules and production schedules to ensure customer requirements are met without interruption.
  • Develop and implement creative cross-functional solutions to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across supply planning, logistics, and material flow processes.
  • Leverage digital tools, analytics, and GM systems to enhance forecast accuracy, reduce waste, and optimize inventory levels.
  • Identify modernization opportunities within automation, packaging improvements, and data visibility enhancements.
  • Champion structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Oversee PFEP processes and modernization opportunities within material flow.
  • Drive GMS elements, BPD performance, and KPI scorecard execution.
  • Build and strengthen the GSC talent pipeline to support future business needs.
  • Provide Planning and Business Manager coverage, anticipating long-term goals and requirements.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of ISO standards and regulatory requirements for proactive compliance.
  • Anticipate capacity constraints, production risks, and inventory gaps by analyzing schedules, metrics, and system data.
  • Develop long-term inventory strategies including part banks, minimum/maximum levels, and obsolescence prevention methods.
  • Maintain safety through audits, observations, and thorough incident investigations.
  • Ensure total-cost decision-making across inventory, logistics, and material flow strategies.
  • Manage departmental budgets and lead cost-efficiency initiatives.
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory records, MR/DR adjustments, stock balances, and MGO reconciliations.
  • Oversee compliance in shipping, record keeping, Internal Controls, and physical inventory execution.
  • Investigate supplier disputes, freight claims, and billing errors with transparency and accountability.
  • Support 24/7 operational readiness and resolve complex supply issues while maintaining ethical standards and reliability.
