The Global Environmental & Sustainability Manager is responsible for providing Environmental and Sustainability support at a Global level for all Beckman Coulter Life Sciences associates. The Global Environmental & Sustainability Manager is responsible to lead the development and execution of BEC LS's global sustainability and environmental strategy, aligning with Danaher's corporate goals to drive environmental stewardship, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. This role will establish and mature sustainability practices across the organization, embedding them into culture, processes, and products. This position reports to the Global Environmental, Health, Safety & Sustainability (EHS&S) Sr. Manager and is part of the Beckman Coulter Life Sciences Global EHS&S Function working at a Beckman Coulter Life Sciences site (Indianapolis, San Jose, CA or Hialeah, FL). In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Drive Global Sustainability and Continuous Improvement: Develop and execute BEC LS's sustainability roadmap aligned with Danaher objectives, serving as SME for energy management and environmental systems, while leading kaizen events, identifying capital projects and incentives, and representing the company in industry forums to share best practices and foster engagement. Drive Program Development & Compliance: Create standardized sustainability policies and tools; ensure global compliance with environmental regulations (EPA, EU directives, ISO 14001) through permitting, audits, and reporting. Advance Operational Excellence: Implement Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and leverage the Danaher Business System (DBS) to deliver energy, water, and waste reduction initiatives; analyze global data for cost optimization. Embed Sustainability in Culture: Integrate sustainability into business decisions and product design through training, communications, and change management; partner with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders. Monitor Risk & Emerging Regulations: Conduct global environmental audits and risk assessments; track regulatory changes and prepare sustainability disclosures.

  • Bachelor's in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, Industrial Hygiene, or related field with 7+ years in environmental management, ideally within life sciences, biotech, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Certifications: CSP, CEM, PMP; ISO 14001 Lead Auditor or equivalent preferred; EPA or equivalent country-specific environmental certification.
  • Technical Expertise: Air/water/waste regulations, hazardous materials management, sustainability frameworks (e.g., GHG Protocol, CDP).
  • Process Improvement: Six Sigma Master Black Belt, LEAN OpEx, Value Stream Mapping.
  • Leadership & Communication: Strong project management, cross-cultural collaboration, and ability to influence senior leadership.
  • Ability to travel - 15 % to 25% travel, overnight, Unites States and international to China, Bangalore, France, Ireland, and Germany
  • Must have a valid passport
  • Global operations experience, multi-site management, knowledge of pharmaceuticals in the environment (PiE) and risk assessment.
