About The Position

The Global Learning Program Manager, under direction, plans, organizes, directs, and manages day-to-day activities, developing and implementing procedures for the administration of multiple global learning initiatives and programs that advance the mission of the Department of Global Engagement and support the internationalization of Texas A&M University.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of related work experience.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Experience with leading or serving on committees and working groups, and experience coordinating efforts between various entities.
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • May require lifting and/or moving of moderate weighted objects.

  • Active member of NAFSA: Association of International Educators or other organizations focused on international education.

Responsibilities

  • Program Development, Planning, and Coordination Responsible for the development, planning, implementation, and coordination of global learning programs and initiatives targeted to students, staff, and faculty such as Global Engagement’s First-Year Experiences courses, Global Career Accelerator, Intercultural Development Inventory, skills-building, intercultural training, and digital credentialing. Assists in developing strategic plans and goals to support global learning programs. Assists with annual budgetary and contract processes related to global learning programs.
  • Peace Corps Prep Serves as the university’s administrator of the Peace Corps Prep program. Develops a general marketing and recruitment plan for the program. Manages the application and selection process and monitors student progress through the program. Advises participants on program requirements. Monitors and tracks retention and completion rates of students and Peace Corps acceptance rates for graduates. Confirms program completion and organizes a recognition program for graduates.
  • Student Experience Responsible for the management and advisement of the Aggie Global Guides student ambassador program. Responsible for establishing and maintaining strong collaborations with internationally focused student organizations and groups. Manages the development of and provides support for the university’s International Community Council.
  • Administration Assists the director in establishing short and long-term goals and strategic planning. Establishes objectives, outcomes, policies, and procedures. Oversees daily fiscal and purchasing activities and assists in preparation and monitoring of budgets for programs, initiatives, and events. Assists in identifying funding opportunities. Collects data to assess and evaluate programs. Develops and updates training materials and delivers training to stakeholders.
  • Supervision Leads team development and supervises full-time program staff, graduate assistants, student employees, and Aggie Global Guide executive team members. Works with administrators, staff, and students across the department and University to promote and implement the University's global engagement strategy.
