Role Overview: The Global Human Resources (HR) Director is responsible for leading HR strategy and execution for Artex globally. This role is a member of the Executive Leadership Team of the Artex Group and reports jointly to the VP HR Specialty Americas within Gallagher with a dotted line to the Global CEO, Artex Risk Solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years related experience required. Excellent Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
  • 15 years’ HR management experience within financial services or re/insurance, ideally within a global corporate environment with matrixed reporting lines
  • 2 years in a group leadership role
  • 7 years in an HR partnership role
  • Business acumen coupled with a proven and empathetic approach to successfully engaging and consulting with key stakeholders
  • A full understanding of how a strong HR partnership can impact and contribute to the organization meeting and exceeding its objectives.
  • The interest in, appreciation for and ability to advocate the importance of inclusion and diversity.
  • Thorough knowledge of human resource management principles and best practices, and ability to creatively generate appropriate solutions to complex issues.
  • Solid working knowledge of employment legislation, regulations and employment practices in Bermuda, USA, the Cayman Islands and the UK.
  • Strong understanding of data analysis and ability to use HR metrics to support business initiatives.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage multiple work streams concurrently.
  • Ability to build relationships with management, colleagues, direct and indirect reports, and to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Highly motivated individual who is deadline-driven, and committed to delivering an excellent level of client service.
  • Excellent verbal, written, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
  • Diligent and firm with high ethical standards.
  • Advanced computer literacy skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or relevant field, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Leading and directing HR strategy, aligning priorities to support business strategy and leveraging synergies and efficiencies within the group and with Gallagher.
  • Act as a senior business partner for the Executive Team, consulting on recruitment, career development, succession planning, restructures, compensation processes, performance management and training needs, employee relations matters, and providing or overseeing timely implementation of agreed actions.
  • Act as HR lead on acquisition and merger activities, coordinating with local HR leaders as appropriate for due diligence and integration.
  • Drive engagement, performance management, talent acquisition and talent development initiatives for the Artex Group.
  • In conjunction with Finance, report and manage employee costs and other key metrics effectively while ensuring sufficient resourcing to meet business needs.
  • Lead and manage the Artex HR team, establishing and maintaining services from the wider Gallagher HR team and outsourced service providers to meet business needs and regulatory and compliance requirements. Overseeing payroll, benefits administration, immigration and other processes in countries where they are not managed within Gallagher directly.
  • Establish and maintain cost effective and efficient HR systems and procedures across the Artex Group.
  • Lead and drive Artex Group’s inclusion and Diversity and Leadership Development initiatives.
