About The Position

Asana is hiring a Global Head of Commercial Legal to lead its worldwide commercial legal function. Reporting to the General Counsel, this is a high-visibility leadership role responsible for shaping commercial legal strategy, managing complex deal escalations, and scaling legal support across a global go-to-market organization. This leader will oversee a global team of commercial attorneys and legal professionals supporting enterprise sales, channel partnerships, procurement, and revenue-generating agreements across customer segments—including enterprises, governments, and educational institutions. The role includes serving as an escalation point for high-stakes negotiations, defining success metrics and budget oversight for the commercial legal function, and partnering closely with Sales, Finance, Channel, and Procurement leadership. Beyond transaction execution, the Global Head of Commercial Legal will drive operational excellence—building playbooks, templates, and AI-enabled workflows to improve efficiency, optimize contract lifecycle management, and reduce time-to-close. This role sits on the Legal & Stock leadership team and plays a central part in long-term strategic planning and organizational development. The ideal candidate brings 15+ years of legal experience, including significant in-house tenure and at least 8+ years leading and scaling commercial legal teams in complex, global organizations. Experience supporting global sales operations across EMEA and APAC, managing legal operations at scale, and partnering with businesses exceeding $1B in revenue is strongly preferred. This is a role for a strategic, pragmatic leader with strong executive presence, sound judgment, and the ability to translate complex global issues into clear, actionable guidance.
