POSITION SUMMARY: The Global Employment Counsel provides day‑to‑day employment law advice to People & Culture and business leaders, supports internal HR investigations, and oversees employment litigation matters. This role partners closely with Regional Managing Counsel teams and outside counsel to ensure consistent and practical guidance across the U.S., Canada, and international theaters (EMEA, APCJ, LATAM).

Requirements

  • Deep subject matter expertise in U.S. employment law.
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand employment law frameworks in other countries where F5 operates.
  • Ability to work autonomously while maintaining strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Ability to deliver business-oriented legal advice, balancing risk with the need for practical, actionable solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in high pressure or time sensitive environments.
  • Law degree and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar in good standing.
  • At least 5 years practicing employment law, with significant experience advising clients directly.
  • Background at a respected national or international law firm required, with a clear focus on employment law.
  • Ability to operate autonomously with little supervision and demonstrate sound judgment in factually ambiguous situations.

  • In-house experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as subject matter expert for the company with respect to employment law, providing day-to-day advice on U.S. employment law to People & Culture and management.
  • Collaborate closely with the Regional Managing Counsel teams and outside law firms to ensure the timely and accurate provision of legal advice in the theaters (EMEA, APCJ, and LATAM) and Canada.
  • Lead high-impact legal initiatives and projects that drive organizational change with respect to employment law compliance in the U.S. and globally.
