About The Position

As a Global Business Development Manager for Oilfield, you will play a pivotal role in driving growth and expanding the market presence within the oil and gas industry. You will support commercial efforts to identify and convert new business opportunities with Nouryon's Oilfield portfolio. Your efforts will contribute to the realization of the global business strategy and innovation efforts. This role requires you to be a strategic thinker with deep expertise in the oilfield sector and a proven track record of successful business development. You will build, maintain, and leverage key external relationships across the region, demonstrating strong leadership skills and the ability to connect with key stakeholders globally. Please note: This is an on-site position based in Houston, TX.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree, in Chemistry, Petroleum Engineering or Engineering-related discipline (Candidates with an MBA are desirable).
  • A minimum of 8 years of prior experience in combination of technical service, sales or marketing roles within the oil and gas industry with a strong understanding of the oilfield sector
  • Working experience at service and/or oil companies, specifically in the production chemicals industry is a must.
  • Fluency in English and preferably Spanish required; other relevant languages a plus.
  • Proven track record of achieving business growth and expanding market presence on a global scale
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, with appreciation for teamwork and understanding of working across global cultures.
  • Creative and analytical individuals with a strategic mindset, capable of thinking critically and strategically to develop innovative solutions.
  • Willingness to travel internationally, approximately 30% of the time, to engage with customers and internal stakeholders for meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with sales and marketing to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities within the oil and gas industry, focusing on expanding the company's footprint in global markets.
  • Develop and implement strategic business plans to achieve growth targets and increase market share, translating technical and scientific data into measurable financial opportunities within a designated timeframe.
  • Establish robust relationships with key stakeholders within the customer organization and foster connections at multiple levels across the oilfield sector.
  • Actively nurture and support innovation projects by coordinating internal experts from Technical Service, Product Development, R&D, Marketing, Regulatory, and Supply Chain to support critical customer activities and drive new business development initiatives.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape to identify emerging opportunities and potential risks
  • Represent Nouryon at key industry events and trade associations, enhancing brand visibility and building a network of industry contacts.
