About The Position

As the Global AP Manager, you will be responsible for leading and optimizing end-to-end AP operations for the United States and Canada. This role manages a remote, geographically dispersed team and ensures accurate, timely, and compliant processing while continuously improving processes, controls, and stakeholder experience. The ideal candidate brings strategic leadership, a service-oriented perspective, and demonstrates success in driving efficiencies across complex, multi-entity environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7+ years of progressive Accounts Payable experience, including multi-entity or international exposure
  • Proven success leading process improvements and managing change in fast-paced environments
  • Strong knowledge of AP best practices, internal controls, and US/Canadian compliance requirements
  • Experience managing, coaching and developing remote or distributed teams
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems and AP automation tools
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to balance service, excellence, control, and efficiency

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage day-to-day AP operations for US and Canadian entities, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing, payments, and reconciliations
  • Manage, coach, and develop a remote AP team; set clear expectations, monitor performance, and foster engagement and accountability
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and applicable US and Canadian regulatory requirements
  • Identify, design, and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
  • Drive standardization across regions while remaining flexible to local requirements
  • Partner with Finance, Procurement, and IT to support system enhancements, automation initiatives, and implementations of new ERP and AP automation tools, as applicable
  • Lead change management efforts, including training, documentation, and stakeholder communication
  • Deliver excellent customer service to internal partners and external vendors, ensuring timely issue resolution and clear communication
  • Act as a key point of escalation for AP-related inquiries and complex issues across regions
  • Build strong relationships with business partners to improve collaboration and service outcomes
  • Monitor KPIs (cycle time, accuracy, aging, vendor inquiries) and use data to drive continuous improvement
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities, audits, and ad-hoc reporting
  • Ensure consistent application of policies and strong internal controls across regions
