About The Position

Leidos is seeking a GIS Analyst to support energy and utility-focused programs, including power delivery, grid modernization, renewable integration, and infrastructure planning. This role applies advanced geospatial analysis to support the design, operation, and maintenance of electric, gas, and renewable energy systems for public and private sector clients. Primary Responsibilities Perform GIS analysis to support electric transmission and distribution, substations, renewable assets, and utility infrastructure. Develop, maintain, and update GIS datasets related to electric, gas, and energy assets. Support grid modernization, storm response planning, asset management, and infrastructure resilience initiatives. Create maps, spatial analyses, dashboards, and visualizations for engineering, planning, and operations teams. Ensure GIS data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with utility and regulatory standards. Automate GIS workflows using Python, ModelBuilder, or scripting tools to improve efficiency. Collaborate with engineers, planners, environmental teams, and project managers to deliver GIS-driven solutions. Support field data collection, GPS workflows, and mobile GIS applications. Dashboard development and maintenance for visual representation of project deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Geospatial Science, Engineering, or related discipline; or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of GIS experience supporting infrastructure or energy-related projects.
  • Proficiency with Esri ArcGIS (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online).
  • Experience working with spatial databases and large geospatial datasets.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate spatial data into business and operational insights.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with electric utility GIS data models (Esri Utility Network, geometric networks).
  • Familiarity with transmission & distribution (T&D) systems and power delivery workflows.
  • Experience supporting renewable energy (solar, wind, storage) projects.
  • Knowledge of CAD/GIS integration and as-built data management.
  • Python scripting, SQL, or automation experience.
  • Experience working with regulated utilities or government energy programs.
