About The Position

Miami Children’s Museum is looking for an energetic, friendly, and customer-focused Gift Shop Sales Clerk to help make every visitor’s experience unforgettable! In this role, you’ll welcome guests with warmth, recommend fun and educational merchandise, support membership sales, and help keep our shop running smoothly. You’ll shine if you enjoy working with kids and families, have a knack for sales, and thrive in a fast-paced, playful environment. Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Prior experience in retail, sales, or customer service preferred.
Comfortable using POS systems, handling cash, and supporting basic inventory processes.
Energetic, professional, and motivated by sales and guest engagement.
Demonstrated ability to process transactions accurately and efficiently.
Strong organizational skills with a proactive, take-initiative mindset.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, child-friendly environment that values diversity, inclusion, and teamwork.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in retail, sales, or customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet all families with warmth and enthusiasm, creating a fun and welcoming shopping experience.
Recommend and demonstrate merchandise to inspire purchases and support daily sales goals.
Share information about Museum exhibits, programs, and events to enhance the guest experience.
Accurately process sales using the POS system and handle cash transactions responsibly.
Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing gift shop at all times.
Assist with restocking, merchandising, and inventory counts as needed.
Promote Museum memberships and communicate the value of year-round play and learning.
Support special events, birthday parties, and weekend programming as required.
Work collaboratively with the team and assist with training new staff when needed.
Remain flexible for evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
Other duties as assigned.
