Key Position Details: 0.3 FTE (24 hours per two-week pay period) Variable, day/evening shifts: Monday and Friday 10:30a - 5p Every other Sunday from12:00p - 4:00pm Job Description: Works to ensure the smooth and orderly operation of our Retail Shop by providing a quality selection of products and/or food and beverage items, and exceptional customer service. Keeps the shop clean and organized.

Requirements

• Must be 16 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED
• 0 to 2 years experience in retail/customer service
• 0 to 2 years experience at a coffee shop or other related food service

Responsibilities

• Daily operation. Completes product displays to best showcase merchandise.
• Maintains attractive shopping environment by keeping working area clean.
• Maintains clean food prep and service area if applicable.
• Documents safe food handling practices if applicable.
• Keeps stock room clean and organized.
• Responsible for daily operation of online website sales.
• Call in special (flower) orders as needed.
• Customer service. Greets and provides sales assistance to retail customers.
• Answers phone during business hours.
• Accepts payment, processes credit card information, or makes change for cash purchases.
• Processes credit card returns as needed.
• Accurately process online sales and telephone orders.
• Resolves common costumer complaints, questions, or issues independently.
• Answers online customer questions.
• Stocking inventory. Stocks merchandise as needed.
• Prices and marks merchandise.
• Checks in product as it is received while comparing products to the original invoice.
• Identifies and reports if any damaged product is received.
• Performs random pricing checks to ensure accurate pricing of merchandise.
• Conducts daily inventory of merchandise and/or food and beverage supplies, and orders product as needed.
• Tracks inventory per departments tracking process.
• Opening and closing responsibilities. Manages cash register.
• May participate in the daily cash deposit, including balancing cash and credit card receipts with register.
• Prior to opening, prepares for the daily operation, which may include food, coffee, and/or menu preparation.
• Volunteer oversight. Instructs and assists volunteers as needed.
• Trains volunteers in the daily operation of the retail shop as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
