About The Position

What impact you will make? As a member of the Gas Power On-Site Services Team, you will contribute to the Field Services organization, providing quality generator inspections needed to keep generators running and producing electricity for the public. In this role, you will represent Gas Power On-Site Services Team to provide critical on-site support to our customers globally, while upholding our values of quality, customer focus, and safety.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma, GED, or similar educational equivalent or two years of relevant experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be 18 years old or older.
  • Availability to travel and work globally on short notice up to 80% of the time, and for extended periods of time, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must meet requirements to obtain unescorted access at nuclear sites and any other site or country access requirements.
  • Ability and willingness to work rotating shifts.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work at heights of 20 to 30 feet.
  • Ability to work in cramped, awkward positions for short periods of time.
  • To meet customer safety requirements, you may be required to use a respirator. Respirator use requires you pass a fit test which necessitates your face be clean-shaven. Religious or medical accommodation requires for exemption to this requirement are reviewed individually upon request.

Responsibilities

  • Perform generator inspections at customers’ sites domestically and internationally with the aid of robotic tools that can access locations inside of the generator that humans cannot.
  • These inspections provide GE and GE’s customers with diagnostic data and critical information that enables equipment owners to make business critical decisions about operation, maintenance, repair, or replacement of their equipment.
  • Work closely with onsite field engineers, off site engineering support team and subject matter experts to review, analyze and disposition the results of the inspections.
  • Interpret and follow technical instructions and procedures.
