The main purpose of the People & Culture Generalist, U.S. is to collaborate and contribute to People & Culture (PC) activities in their area and ensure consistency and quality of PC services for area leaders and managers. This position is part of the Americas PC Team and reports to the People & Culture Manager in New Berlin.

Requirements

  • At least two years’ experience in human resources, preferably in the manufacturing or a related industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Recourses or other corresponding major, or equivalent experience
  • Two years’ experience in human resources, preferably in manufacturing or a related industry
  • Understanding of U.S. laws related to HR
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and an ethical mindset
  • Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
  • Capable of working independently and in teams; self-motivated
  • Familiarity with HR software
  • Occasional travel may be required (<5%)

Responsibilities

  • Processes terminations and internal transfers, including submitting tickets to Global Shared Services
  • Administers Leave of Absence (LOA) process, interfacing with the employee and third-party vendor to execute a smooth experience
  • Presents PC materials during New Hire Orientation and completes the I-9 process utilizing E-Verify
  • Manages employee files in electronic, cloud-based system
  • Collaborates with other PC Generalists, PC Administrator, PC Managers, Recruiters, Global Shared Services, etc. to ensure accuracy and quick response time
  • Partners with the PC Manager and local management to implement PC activities in the Country/Area
  • Supports specific development programs if these are required on local level
  • Administers the global PC processes and cycles with local management to ensure understanding and completion per the global schedule. This includes processes such as Target Setting & Performance Management, Career Development, Talent Reviews & Succession Planning, Salary Reviews, engagement surveys, etc.
  • Works with the training organization in supporting and promoting training needed for the Area related to PC topics and competency development
  • Collaborates with the PC team to apply the people strategy for the Area together with the PC Manager according to the Global (Group) and Region guidance
  • Helps with PC projects in the Area and ensures Area Management receives required support in people processes and in day-to-day people topics.
  • Participates in and supports the Group and Region in such projects
  • Assists with mergers and acquisitions’ integration and change management activities in the Country/Area
  • Supports the implementation of Country/Area business strategies and Country/Area implementation of group people strategy according to the Group and Region guidance or direction
  • Understands and responds to employee questions related to overall benefits offered and commonly asked questions
  • Processes pay changes by submitting tickets to Global Shared Services
  • Supports the PC Manager to ensure Area Managers complete the Konecranes Talent management process and talent mapping
  • Assist with succession planning and career path utilization in the Area
  • Advocate and support employees through ongoing PC initiatives and strong employee service levels
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, creating a work environment in which employees are motivated, contributing, and happy
  • Do one’s part to ensure that Konecranes is in compliance with local employment laws and regulations and company policies
  • Assists the PC Manager with investigations and leads routine investigations. Guides managers through minor disciplinary processes and determines appropriate corrective action with input from PC Manager
  • Champion global diversity & inclusion initiatives and apply local approaches as appropriate
  • Partner with PC Manager to monitor action items to drive improvements in diversity
  • Identify ways to enhance inclusion in the workplace
