Learn how you can start or jumpstart your career with us. Description The General Operator is responsible for operating batch process equipment used in the manufacturing of polyimide resin. The production area operates 7 days per week covered by an 8-hour rotating shift schedule. A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position. No relocation assistance is available for this position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Able to communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and support staff
  • Able to read and follow written instructions
  • Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office applications
  • Basic math skills required for measurements and calculations
  • Able to lift 50 lb.
  • Able to work rotating 8-hour shifts including weekends and holidays as scheduled
  • Able to work overtime as needed

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot process equipment including reactors, tanks, dryers, filters, pumps, fans, hoses and valves
  • Operate material handling equipment including forklift, pallet jack, and drum lifter
  • Follow batch instructions to accurately measure and load raw materials, set operating conditions, and perform processing tasks
  • Record all quality and production data accurately
  • Perform in-process quality control testing (viscosity, pH, moisture, or similar tests)
  • Perform routine process checks to ensure optimal plant performance
  • Wear PPE as required
  • Shutdown, lock out, and restart equipment for maintenance
  • Report all safety, environmental, or production issues to supervision
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with housekeeping standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision
