Manages and directs workforce to achieve sales and profit goals. Designs and recommends sales programs and sets short- and long-term sales strategies. Evaluates and implements appropriate new sales techniques to increase the locations sales volume. May recommend product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential. Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Acts as advisor to employees regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Be familiar with all equipment and workflow processes at the location and be responsible that operational programs and processes run effectively. Responsible for training, sales, customer service, expense management and operational excellence. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 7-10 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complex tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to head of a unit/department. A General manager is responsible for managing all aspects of a business location.
