About The Position

FENCING SPECIALISTS GENERAL MANAGER Are you a hands-on operator who knows how to bring structure, clarity, and accountability to a growing business while preserving what already works? Do you ask the right questions early, build trust quickly, and follow through on what matters most? At Fencing Specialists, you will partner closely with a visionary owner who has spent years building a respected, woman-led business in a traditionally male-dominated industry. This role is about strengthening and scaling what is already working, not starting from scratch. We are looking for someone who communicates directly, takes initiative from day one, and can balance people, performance, and progress in a fast-moving environment. You are someone who: Leads with curiosity: asks the right questions, works to deeply understand the business and owner’s perspective, and brings thoughtful ideas to improve how things operate Builds strong relationships: quickly earns trust with both the owner and the team, creating alignment across the organization Communicates directly: addresses challenges, risks, and misalignment openly, without avoidance or politics Drives accountability: sets clear expectations and ensures follow-through, holding the line while maintaining respect Stays grounded under pressure: remains steady and composed when things get uncomfortable or fast-moving Balances people and performance: supports the team while ensuring results and progress continue forward Is hands-on when needed: comfortable stepping into the yard, shop, or field while also operating at a leadership level Represents the company well: brings presence and polish, showing up as a credible leader in external and community settings In this role, success comes from building alignment, earning trust, and driving results while honoring the foundation that’s already in place. You’ll need to step in quickly, understand how the business operates, and proactively identify where you can add value without disrupting what’s working. The right person will be comfortable asking questions, engaging directly with the owner and team, and taking ownership of both day-to-day execution and long-term improvements. In this role, you will serve as a key partner to the owner, strengthening alignment, improving execution, and ensuring the business continues to grow on a solid foundation. Requirements

  • 5+ years of senior leadership experience leading multiple functions or departments
  • Proven ability to align teams, drive accountability, and improve execution across the business
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience managing budgets and business performance
  • Able to operate hands-on in the business while building structure and improving processes
  • Working knowledge of construction, trades, or a related field, able to read specifications, understand requirements, and support problem-solving when issues arise

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with EOS or similar operating systems
  • Comfort using business systems and technology to support reporting and decision-making
  • Experience in a founder-led or family-owned business
