About The Position

This position is responsible for the total operation of the assigned business area, ensuring the efficient and safe manufacturing of quality products in a manner that is consistent with company policies and procedures. This includes providing supervisors with information, materials, and training, enabling them to produce the highest quality product possible. The role involves monitoring records for attendance, payroll, production, safety, ergonomics, and TQM, as well as monitoring and promoting new ideas and encouraging the development of ideas from Team Members. The General Manager also oversees the daily operation of their assigned area, analyzes non-routine problems, and offers recommendations for solutions to the Plant Manager. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with USDA, Federal, and State Regulations and maintaining the entire operation of their assigned area, covering aspects such as safety, production yields, quality, Team Member relations, turnover and absenteeism, discipline, payroll, staffing, and line speeds.

Requirements

  • Education beyond high school including special training, vocational school, and/or college courses, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 plus years general knowledge of production techniques, procedures, product yields and quality, and USDA and OSHA regulations.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Supervisory experience over a group of personnel who perform somewhat identical and related tasks or activities.

  • Maintain entire operation of their assigned area, including but not limited to, safety, production yields, quality, Team Member relations, turnover and absenteeism, discipline, payroll, staffing, and line speeds.
  • Other duties as assigned.
