About The Position

This position is responsible for supervising the maintenance of production equipment, maintenance personnel and program, facility, and utilities such as Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Electrical, Water, and Drain Systems. The role ensures that company policies and directives from the Maintenance Manager are followed and enforced. While this position primarily works the swing shift, it may occasionally require working nights or days.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 6+ years of maintenance experience.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in maintenance.
  • Standard computer proficiency required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to speak in public to groups of 15-30 people regularly and occasionally to groups of 30 or more.
  • Industrial maintenance experience in areas such as mechanical, electrical, automation, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, conveyors, and refrigeration.
  • Responsible for supervising a group of maintenance supervisors and personnel who perform similar or interrelated tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all maintenance personnel are well-trained and informed on the most up-to-date equipment, policies, and directives from the Maintenance Manager, along with skill-level training.
  • Provide a safe workplace by complying with and enforcing all safety and regulatory programs (e.g., Environmental, OSHA, PSM, USDA, HACCP).
  • Constantly monitor plant equipment and systems to minimize unplanned downtime by executing RCA’s, FMEA’s, and PMO’s.
  • Analyze data to identify equipment reliability opportunities and recommend administrative and engineering controls to improve plant processes.
  • Own and manage plant/engineering improvement and expansion projects, proactively anticipating and solving problems in a timely manner.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining the CMMS (SAP) to ensure the department stays on track with key performance indicators (KPIs) such as notifications, work orders, downtime, planned/unplanned work, schedule adherence, overtime, and spending.
  • Review and recommend adequate and appropriate inventory levels for replacement parts.
  • Empower and support maintenance supervisors by removing obstacles and setting them up for success.
  • Receive direction, delegate effectively, produce results, and provide sound follow-up and communication.
  • Set an example of ownership, accountability, integrity, and a strong work ethic.
  • Demonstrate high competency in enforcing GMPs, housekeeping, food safety, and sanitation best practices.
  • Oversee multiple shifts with varying responsibilities and skill sets (e.g., mechanical, electrical, automation, IT, utility, building and grounds) and ensure adequate coverage across shifts.
  • Participate in the interviewing, hiring, and onboarding process for new personnel.
