About The Position

Sodexo is seeking a General Manager/Chef Manager to lead operations at a private high school in Detroit, MI. We’re looking for a dynamic leader with strong culinary management experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to inspire and develop teams. In this role, you’ll oversee day‑to‑day dining operations, ensure high standards for quality and safety, and create a welcoming, student‑focused dining experience. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable engaging daily with students, faculty, and staff. This position offers meaningful involvement within the school community along with a primarily Monday–Friday schedule. At Sodexo, we deliver food, nutrition, environmental and facilities management solutions to partnered K-12 schools. Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership in employee engagement, with a strong history of supervisory experience and a collaborative management style.
  • Extensive culinary experience, with a solid understanding of food safety and sanitation compliance standards.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, communicate professionally, and deliver exceptional customer service with passion and consistency.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the flexibility to adapt and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
  • Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experienceMinimum Management Experience - 2 years Minimum Functional Experience - 2 years
