About The Position

Sodexo is seeking a General Manager 5 – Food to lead operations at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest, the largest campus within the Lehigh Valley Health Network, located in Allentown, Pennsylvania. This 1,227-bed flagship facility represents one of the most dynamic and high-profile healthcare environments in the region. Allentown is the fastest-growing major city in Pennsylvania and conveniently located just a short drive from Philadelphia. This is a highly visible executive leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, financial performance, patient satisfaction, and client partnership across a large, complex healthcare food service operation.

Requirements

  • Strong culinary production background in a high-volume healthcare or institutional setting
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing large teams in complex operations
  • Expertise in food safety, sanitation compliance, and regulatory standards
  • Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and interpreting performance reports
  • Menu planning experience and a strong understanding of current culinary trends
  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills
  • Proficiency in computer systems, reporting tools, and operational software
  • Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum Management Experience – 5 years
  • Minimum Functional Experience – 5 years

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational oversight of daily food service operations (patient services and retail)
  • Lead and develop a large, multi-layered management team and frontline workforce
  • Deliver high-quality food service and exceptional patient/customer experience
  • Achieve company and client financial targets, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost controls
  • Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to enhance service, quality, and operational performance
  • Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure full compliance with Sodexo standards, HACCP, regulatory, and safety protocols
